HOA book launch
We launched our book, ‘The Guide to Homestead Dairy Sheep’ at the 2023 Homesteaders of America Conference!!! To say it was wonderful would be insufficiently putting it mildly. It was fantabulous! The joy, excitement, and gratitude so many attendees expressed at having this knowledge put together for them in one easy to read book was so validating. It affirmed the hard work and discipline we all put into it the last year.
At this year’s event I was able to meet several people from the Sawdust Publishing team, as well as a few more people on the board and staff at Homesteaders of America. It is such a pleasure to interact with this crowd of folks!
Between pre-sales and our book launch event, we have covered all the production costs! To have a book do this well and be so successful for a first time author and a brand new publishing house is exhilarating! Thank you SO much for everyone’s support!
I also gave my first-ever Homesteaders of America workshop! This is my third time publicly speaking about Sheep as a viable dairy animal for the homestead. I love giving presentations on this topic and meeting new homesteaders. Janet Garman gave my introduction and it was phenomenal. In addition to a wonderful online library of resources for homesteaders, you automatically get a subscription to their magazine.. which is almost a small book that comes out twice a year!
I could not do any of this without the loyal and unconditional support of Kyle, and the FARMily and friends the Lord has graciously placed in our lives. Thank you to everyone who has walked this book journey with us from start to finish, and those that have jumped on board along the way! I told Kyle the other day that the funny thing about this book writing journey is that before I began writing it, I don’t think I knew that many authors. Now that the book is published I know SEVERAL authors! I met a few at Homesteaders of America and have also learned that a few of my friends have begun writing as well. It is so fun to see how the Lord is leading us to share the knowledge and homesteading wisdom with others wanting to embrace this lifestyle.
